Προσωπική εμπειρία απο Hostmonster

Καλησπέρα σε όλους. Πρώτο μου post σε αυτό το forum (αν και το παρακολουθώ εδώ και καιρό). Γενικά και εγω είμαι νέοπας σε όλο το σκηνικό αυτό.

Αφορμή για να κάνω post είναι η τραυματική εμπειρία που βιώνω τους τελευταίους μήνες με το web hosting της hostmonster.com. Τους έστειλα πριν λίγο το 3ο ticket...

Το πρόβλημα που εχω είναι ότι ενω το site εδώ και καιρό το βράδυ τρέχει γρήγορα, την μέρα, ειδικά 1-5 το μεσημέρι, σέρνεται ο δίας... Κάνει και 15 sec να φορτώσει όλη η index σελίδα...

Δοκιμασα joomla caching, rss compression κτλ, αλλα φταίει απλά o server που λογικά θα ειναι παραφορτωμένος και τις ώρες αιχμής θα γίνεται χαμός...

Τους έστειλα μέχρι και benchmarks απο site speed testing tools, έβαλα ακομα και 2 demo εκδόσεις joomla σε 2ο server (hostgator), ίδιο content, ίδια db...

Αυτό που μου απάντησε ο 2nd level "db tech engineer" είναι ότι το βρήκε το prob, και το έφτιαξε και του φαινεται ότι πάει γρήγορα και other crap. Αλλά φυσικά τίποτα δεν έφτιακσε

Τους έστειλα πριν λίγο και 3o ticket, στο τσακ ήμουν να τους βρίσω...

Αυτό που θα ήθελα να ρωτήσω είναι αν είχατε ποτέ παρόμοια προβλήματα και μήπως ξέρει κανείς τι μπορώ να κάνω σε περίπτωση που δεν το φτιάξουν τελικά (θα υπάρχει refund κτλ?)

I'm looking at the site and your box and I am not seeing any Current problems with the box or your site. We recently implemented some changes to all servers that should reduce drastically if not completely remove slowness during the times you mentioned. If you are still seeing problems please call or come into live chat when the problem is happening.

Εννοείται ότι το μεσημέρι 1-5 πάλι σερνόταν το site, κάποιες φορές έβγαλε "service unavailable" white screen...

Εν τω μεταξύ δεν είναι στην πολιτική της εταιρίας για να νοιάζεται το downtime των hosted sites:

Our first priority is to get the server up and running as soon as possible so you experience no more down time. The resources and time it would take to move you to another box is far greater than the resources currently being used to bring your server back on line. Even if it were possible to migrate your account to another server, it would take 24 to 48 hours for DNS propagation in addition to the time of moving your files. Doing this would also pull valuable resources and increase the length of time to resolve any issues currently being addressed.

Q: What about the 99.9% network uptime guarantee?
A: The 99% guarantee that we had was for network uptime which is the connectivity of our network to the Internet. We do not guarantee 99.9% uptime. Nonetheless, this is what most of our customers experience. We do all we can to maximize the amount of uptime each of our customers receive by investing millions of dollars in providing as many redundant systems as possible such as: routers, Internet connectivity, ups power backups and backup generators. Τελικά ή πρέπει να είσαι τυχερός και να πετύχεις καλό host ή να τα σκάσεις για dedicated, δεν βλέπω άλλη λύση :/

Καλησπέρα.

Διάβασα το πρόβλημά σου και από ότι διαβάζω το πιθανότερο είναι να πρέπει να αλλάξεις hosting από τη στιγμή που σε γράφουν στα παπάρια τους. Δεν θα σου πρότεινα να πας σε κάποιο dedicated αφού το κόστος ανεβαίνει αρκετά ψηλά σε σχέση με ένα απλό hosting πακέτο.

Έχεις τσεκάρει μήπως τρέχεις στο site σου κάποιο script που αλλάζει τα φώτα στο server και τις ώρες αιχμής απλά δεν μπορεί να τρέξει;

Αν θες φθηνό hosting πολύ καλό είναι στο http://www.webmasters.com/
και αν ψάχνεσαι για dedicated δες αυτό το post
